Why not just use Google Photos or Drive?

If all you need is a temporary place to keep files, those tools may be enough. Generational Story connects memories with the people, places, stories, documents, and context that make them a family record. With Permanent Storage, you can also fund that record’s long-term preservation for generations to come.

Can I record new stories and bring in what I have?

Yes. Use the interview and recording tools to capture new stories, and bring in photos, videos, documents, recordings, and stories from Google Drive, Dropbox, and iCloud. Start with something you have or a story you want to tell — you don’t need to organize a lifetime before you begin.

Can my family contribute too?

Yes. Vault plans include unlimited collaborators, so the people you invite can add memories, recordings, documents, and context from their own perspective.

Who can see my Vault?

Your Vault is private to the people you invite. You decide who becomes part of it.

Can I start Annual and switch to Permanent later?

Yes. You can start with Annual storage and move to Permanent Storage when you’re ready to fund long-term preservation for your selected capacity.
